BWEng Engineering Outreach Programme 2021
In collaboration with WomEng Malawi, BWEng presents the Engineering Outreach Programme 2021. The Programme is a 3-day virtual event from 17th to 19th of June designed to equip the participants with transferable skills to help them excel in their future engineering careers. Intended for female University students studying an Engineering degree, successful applicants will be provided the opportunity to meet and network with accomplished individuals such as award-winning engineers, inspirational professionals, and successful entrepreneurs with expertise in the agricultural sector in Africa. The theme for this year is ‘Sustainable farming and agricultural solutions in Africa’.
EOP 2021 will begin on Thursday, 17 June an introduction to BWEng and WomEng Malawi followed by a keynote from a notable guest speaker with extensive experience within the Agricultural sector.
For the duration of the 3 days, students will participate in a multidisciplinary project based on the theme for this year ‘Sustainable farming and agricultural solutions’, a panel discussion and hear from amazing speakers.

In addition to networking with inspirational speakers and like-minded people, taking part in the programme will enhance your CV with transferable skills you’ll hone participating in the Innovative project. On successful completion of the programme, students will be awarded a certificate.
How to apply
To be considered for EOP 2021, you must be a university student currently studying for an Engineering degree in Malawi. You must also:
- Applicant must be 18 year old or older
- Be available to attend the entire 3 days of the programme

The application for EOP 2021 is a 2 stage process. For stage 1, applicants are required to complete an application form before Friday, 23 April. Successful applicants will proceed to the final stage of the application process. In this final application stage, participants will be required to submit a short private YouTube video.
